Unique combination
MYP

What is
MYP?

MYP is the type of education at International schools. The abbreviation stands for Middle Years Programme and is supervised by the International Baccalaureate Organization.

Originally it was made in the philosophy that if so many students around the world experience the same education with respect for other cultures, open-mindedness and a positive attitude towards learning it would be highly beneficial for world peace. Well, though we are not there yet, it has proved to be a very successful type of education, much appreciated by universities.

MYP focuses on
life skills

Learning to communicate is one such life skill because you can have all the knowledge in the world but it doesn’t mean much if you can’t communicate. That is why we offer four languages: Dutch and English language and literature. And also Spanish and German language acquisition. For Spanish and German we start at the beginning but we are very flexible, we also welcome students at higher levels.

Learning to cope with the world around you is another life skill. The MYP curriculum is taught in an interdisciplinary way such as Sciences or Individuals and Societies instead of teaching history, geography and economics separately. In this way we can focus on global issues like pollution, global warming or, indeed, a worldwide pandemic. Learning to stay healthy is yet another life skill.
